Grape – Glera /Prosecco

What is it?

A white grape variety native to Veneto Region in North East Italy.
Prosecco, although officially named Glera in 2009, this grape produces a fine sparkling wine.
The grape is a medium-bodied, dry or off-dry sparkling wine with delicate stone fruit flavours.

Notes:

Almost all Prosecco are produced by tank method (in contrast Champagne is bottle fermetation), this wine has fresh green apple and melon flavours, these wines are meant to be consumed whey they are young and fresh, do not benefit from bottle aging.
